Analyse existing regulations and local policies, with a focus on preventing tenant displacement during renovation efforts. The “1000 Rooftops” programme will support disadvantaged households by installing solar panels on 1,000 homes. The programme will build on energy-efficient renovations to incentivise citizen engagement in further renovation efforts.

The final stage will offer a roadmap that cities can replicate, showing how interactive, co-creation workshops help tackle energy poverty and support sustainable development in the built environment. These workshops bring together community representatives, policymakers, local authorities, and experts to shape effective renovation strategies collectively.

Vulnerable households of the “Puerto Chico” neighbourhood.

Alleviate poverty through integral building renovations and the establishment of a new OSS “Oficina Verde”.

Collect data on energy habits, consumption, and indoor comfort in homes undergoing renovations to track energy savings, CO₂e reductions, and comfort levels.
The new OSS “Oficina Verde” in Puerto Chico–Aluche will offer energy audits, financial and technical guidance, and support for energy-efficient renovations. The OSS will also address improvements to surrounding public spaces and promote co-created community participation in energy-saving initiatives.
